Mission and Goals

This Committee is a collective, inclusive body of individuals dedicated to advancing and promoting high-quality and inclusive research with indigenous, cultural, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples. The committee is a consulting and educational base for researchers interested in such topics related to international and cross-cultural research.  The committee aims to be an international collective for Division 52 members interested in:

  •  Conducting research with indigenous, cultural, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples
  • Identifying funding opportunities to support such research efforts
  • Fostering horizontal collaboration and mentorship among international researchers
  • Elevating research conducted with diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives in all languages
  • Advocacy for the promotion and integration of culturally appropriate research methodologies across multiple global psychological science organizations

Ways in which we promote high-quality and inclusive research conducted with indigenous, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples include:

  • emphasizing multi-dimensional and multi-method research
  • promoting research that uses open science principles
  • encourage the use of culturally adapted measures, tools, and norms
  • heightening awareness of such research
  • disseminating this high-quality research
