Zed Zhipeng Gao
Outstanding Early Career Psychologist (outside the US) Award

Zed Zhipeng Gao received his PhD in Historical, Theoretical and Critical Studies of Psychology from York University in 2018. Currently, he is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada to conduct postdoctoral research at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. Zed studies Chinese immigrants’ identity and belonging, mental health, and experience of racism amid the Covid-19 pandemic and international tensions surrounding China. In addition, Zed has been writing on the history of psychology in China’s socialist movement, as well as intergroup relations in contemporary China.
