International Perspectives in Psychology: Research, Practice, Consultation is committed to publishing research that examines human behavior and experiences around the globe from a psychological perspective.

The journal promotes the use of psychological science that is contextually informed, culturally inclusive, and dedicated to serving the public interest. The world’s problems are imbedded in economic, environmental, political, and social contexts.

International Perspectives in Psychology incorporates empirical findings from education, medicine, political science, public health, psychology, sociology, gender and ethnic studies, and related disciplines. It publishes intervention strategies that use psychological science and social science to improve the lives of people around the world.

In recognition of its applied focus, authors in International Perspectives in Psychology have the opportunity to include a public significance statement with their paper in the journal. The statement, titled “Implications for Impact,” will enhance the reach of the scholarship, and underscore the impact of the research in a way that is translatable to audiences all over the world. In the spirit of improving the lives of people around the world, these statements will also identify why the article’s findings are important to helping to meet one or more of the 2016-2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These SDGs (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/topics/sustainabledevelopmentgoals) reflect the interdisciplinary goals and ethos of the journal and translate them into the world’s most comprehensive and influential framework for international development.

Submissions: Consistent with Division 52’s core mission, vision, and values, IPP encourages authors who are submitting papers for peer review to work internationally and collaboratively, for example by including authors from more than one country, and especially from outside the USA.
