Mission and Goals
This Committee is a collective, inclusive body of individuals dedicated to advancing and promoting high-quality and inclusive research with indigenous, cultural, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples. The committee is a consulting and educational base for researchers interested in such topics related to international and cross-cultural research. The committee aims to be an international collective for Division 52 members interested in:
- Conducting research with indigenous, cultural, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples
- Identifying funding opportunities to support such research efforts
- Fostering horizontal collaboration and mentorship among international researchers
- Elevating research conducted with diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives in all languages
- Advocacy for the promotion and integration of culturally appropriate research methodologies across multiple global psychological science organizations
Ways in which we promote high-quality and inclusive research conducted with indigenous, cross-national, and cross-cultural samples include:
- emphasizing multi-dimensional and multi-method research
- promoting research that uses open science principles
- encourage the use of culturally adapted measures, tools, and norms
- heightening awareness of such research
- disseminating this high-quality research
