Carlos Zalaquett

Carlos Zalaquett, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education at Penn State, is member of the Global Psychology Alliance (GPA), co- chair of APA’s Division 52 conference (2023-2024) and Global Dialogues-Dialogos Globales, and past-president of SIP. He is the author/coauthor of 70 scholarly publications, and 6 books, including, “Essentials of Intentional Counseling and Psychotherapy in a Multicultural World,”  “Essentials Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy: Everyday Practice in Our Diverse World”, and “Intentional Interviewing and Counseling.” He has received recognition for the internationalization of SIP’s Concepcion, and honorary membership in the Sociedad Cubana de Psicología de la Salud and the Consejo General de la Psicología de España. His current brain-based research laboratory integrates mind-body in the exploration of human behavior. He is an internationally recognized expert on mental health, therapy, diversity, social justice, and global psychology and has conducted workshops and lectures in 17 countries
