Martha S. Zlokovich, PhD, is a Developmental Psychologist, Executive Director of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, and currently completing her second 3-year term as Division 52 Treasurer. She is Past President of the Society for Psychologists in Leadership (SPL), and was a Professor of Psychology at Southeast Missouri State University where she also served as Psychology Department Chair, Interim Chair of the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning, and Faculty Senate Chair. She was elected to the local school board, as Midwestern VP and President of Psi Chi’s Board, and President of Association of College Honor Societies. As D52 Treasurer she initiated division spending and finance policies, standardized budget review and approval via budget dashboard, and oversaw moving funds from APA investment oversight to the division’s own investment advisor. In addition to serving as D52 Treasurer, she has served on several committees and task forces and applied for D52 Fellow this year.
“Dr. Z” joined Psi Chi’s staff in 2008 as second Executive Director (as currently defined, with a doctorate in psychology) and has overseen growth of Psi Chi’s non-US 50 state chapters from one to 32 chapters in 23 different countries/US territories. She was also instrumental in developing Psi Chi’s Network for International Collaborative Exchange (NICE): Crowd, an annual, crowd-sourced, global data collection project, and Psi Chi’s four Advisory Committees.
Her research interests are international crowd-sourced research methods, young adult sexuality and contraception, and student study habits, study beliefs, and persistence to graduation.
