Maryam Tafreshi

Dr. Maryam N. Tafreshi is a faculty at the Mind-Body Medicine Department at Saybrook University. She graduated with distinction from the Ph.D. program in International Psychology at The Chicago School (TCS) and was awarded the TCS Global Psychology Scholars. Dr. Tafreshi is an empowerment researcher and an advocate for global health and well-being, peace, human rights, empowerment, DEIJ, and multicultural competency. She is originally from Iran, a U.S. citizen, and has been an expatriate for over 13 years, living in Chile, Brazil, Singapore, China, and Dubai. Dr. Tafreshi is a member of APA, the Kharrazian Institute, and a co-chair of the APA DIV52- Human Rights, Peace, and Global Well-Being group. She has been collaborating with the Psychology Coalition at the United Nations, and Mensah Medical and Research Institute. She was an invited member of the President’s JEDI Council at Saybrook University, and a member of the Middle East Psychological Association.
