PREFACE

The formal rules and regulations of the Division of International Psychology, Division 52 of the American Psychological Association (APA), are set down in the Bylaws.  The purpose of this Handbook is to augment the formal rules with further detail about the policies, practices, and operations of the Division. To facilitate finding of relevant policies and procedures, the descriptions in the Handbook are ordered for consistency with the Bylaws.  The handbook appendix contains motions, policies and resolutions from the minutes of Executive meetings.

The procedures described in the Handbook are designed to implement the mandates of the Bylaws, and as such are guides to action rather than formal rules of the Division. Revisions and updates of the Handbook reflect the evolution of the Division. Every effort has been made to provide comprehensive information; if there are omissions, we ask that the secretariat be informed so that future records can be complete.
