Criteria, Regulations and Procedures to obtain a License:

Psychology is not a protected title or profession yet unfortunately. Our professional registration board is in the process of being set up but is not active as of yet. To work in the public health service as a psychologist you must have minimum educational and professional training criteria as judged by the psychological society of Ireland but this is not a requirement for private practice.

Reciprocity of Licenses:

To practice in the health service in Ireland your qualifications first have to be validated by an expert validation committee. There are no such requirements at present to work in private practice

Not for work in the health service
