Title: PSI CHI Crowdsourcing
Description: This presentation provides an in-depth overview of the Network for International Collaborative Exchange (NICE) initiative and its aims, discusses past and current NICE projects and the evolution of the program, and presents academic opportunities for students and professionals to collaborate on this year’s NICE project. NICE is a program, launched in the winter of 2018, that is based on facilitating cross-cultural research among Psi Chi members and non-members within the United States and abroad. NICE has two objectives: 1) to connect a network of collaborators open to collaboration and 2) to implement a crowdsourcing initiative (CROWD) that seeks to gather researchers internationally to answer a specified research question to generate collaboratively-collected data from locations across the world. The role of contributors broadly includes the submission of the selected research proposal to their institutional review board (IRB), design of culturally relevant data collection strategies and the translation of measures as needed. By crowdsourcing and collaboration, researchers can save time, and recruit larger, more diverse samples, and with a more inclusive, diversified group of researchers, more creative and innovative solutions and perspectives along with a varied set of skills can be brought to the table. The benefits of considering the NICE CROWD program as your next academic/research endeavor are vast and our NICE chair and committee members are committed to mentoring you through the process. By becoming a NICE collaborator, you can join our network of professionals across the world, receive access to diverse data sets, and become an author on the year’s NICE project!
