Criteria for Initial Fellow of Division 52
General statement: Applicants to initial fellows to Division 52 (International Psychology) need to be involved in global work in several domains in their career, and show their contribution to, engagement with, and promotion of international psychology.
- Research and publications:
- Publishing research pertaining to global psychology and/or conducted with collaborators outside the USA.
- Selection as editor or reviewer for journals located globally and/or languages other than English or grant funding agencies that strengthen global exchange.
- Organizing and/or participating in symposia with global participation.
- Serving as author or editor of a major work in the field of international psychology
- Publishing chapters or books about global, transnational, and/or international psychology
- Teaching:

- Recognition in the form of external awards and/or university awards for teaching and/or promoting the teaching of global, transnational, and/or international psychology.
- Evidence of involvement in teaching, training, and/or supervising in psychology programs outside the USA.
- Leadership

- Holding leadership role(s) in associations or committees that strengthen international exchange and global psychology.
- Leadership in advancing global, transnational, and/or international psychology and psychological educational programs in the USA and/or other countries (e.g., invited visiting scholar, Fulbright Award/Government sponsored award, leader of an innovative educational program)
- Holding leadership role(s) in Division 52 and contributing to the division’s impact in international psychology.

- Two letters of endorsement from two fellows of Division 52. Endorsers cannot be current board members nor on the fellows’ committee.
Criteria for current APA fellows
General statement: Applicants to current fellows to Division 52 (International Psychology) need to be involved in international work in several domains in their career, and show their contribution, engagement and promotion of international psychology all the way through.
Current APA fellows who are interested in applying to Fellow status in Division 52 need to show evidence of their global, transnational, and/or international involvement through publications, projects, and/or teaching related to international psychology. Leadership positions and/or involvement in Division 52 and/or other international psychology associations is also highly recommended.
