This multinational study aims to understand which are the best coping strategies with the current coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. COVID-19 has intensified our mental health crisis. Our current public health system and resources are not equipped to cope with the enormous threats from this pandemic. The medical model of focusing on addressing mental illnesses is no longer enough. Existential positive psychology (e.g. Wong, 2019 CPQ editorial) advocates a novel positive approach to buffer against this evolving and invisible enemy. We propose a “psychological vaccine” developed from Frankl’s (Man’s Quest for Meaning) survival of Nazi concentration camp and Wong’s survival from lifelong suffering (Wong, 2020 Why and how I develop the positive psychology of suffering.) The ingredients of the vaccine include meaning, responsibility, courage, tragic optimism, existential coping, and mature happiness. Online survey. General public Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Lebanon, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil.
